Events in Castlemilk Park

Each year our community woodland officer delivers over 80 FREE events and activities in and around the woods of Castlemilk Park.  Each year we have a series of one off events such as our Easter Bunny Hunt, guided walks or foraging events alongside weekly, monthly and bi-monthly events which include health walks, volunteer session etc.

Early Evening Summer Stroll (health Walks)

Running from April until September why not join one of our early evening health walks and discover the woodlands, waterfalls and wildlife of Castlemilk Park and the surround countryside.  It’s a great way to meet new people and take the first steps towards a healthier lifestyle. These walks are slightly longer, lasting approximately 1½ - 2 hours at a gentle pace.

How old Are Yew? Group (Castlemilk Park’s local History Group)

Interested in the history of Castlemilk? If so, why not join Castlemilk Park’s local history group with talks, guest speakers, trips and our latest discoveries to share.

Photo Walking

Photo walking is the act of walking with a camera for the purpose of taking photos of things that you find interesting along the way. Each month we will have a short 30 minute indoor session looking at how to get the most out of your photography before setting off on our photo walk in the woods of Castlemilk Park. Through the course of the year, some of the walks will be themed to capture the seasonal highlights of the woods.

Volunteer Sessions

This is your opportunity to do some practical work in Castlemilk Park, learn new skills and meet other people. Activities range from woodland management to wildlife surveys or park clean ups.  All tools and equipment provided.

These events are organised by Cassiltoun Housing Association and are funded by Cassiltoun Housing Association, Forestry Commission Scotland & Glasgow Housing Association.
