Applying For A House

The Association operates with an Allocation Policy which assess each application on housing need, this is done through a structured pointing system.  It is therefore important that some time is taken to provide as much information as possible so that the application can be accurately assessed and the relevant points awarded.  It is especially important to answer all medical questions if someone to be rehoused with you has a medical condition which needs to be taken into consideration.

If you are having any difficulty completing the form then please ask us, we are here to help.  You can ask for assistance from our staff team who will be more than happy to help you complete the form and explain the procedure.

Depending on the detail contained within the application we may ask for further confirmation of your circumstances where you maybe required to submit supporting documentation.  If we require any such confirmation we will ask you for it.  It is not necessary for you to provide such information when making the initial application but it may help to process your application more quickly if you do so.  Some examples of confirmation may include:

• Confirmation of National Insurance Number
• Confirmation of Employment
• Written Confirmation of Pregnancy
• Confirmation of Medial Condition / History
• Letter of Support from an agency that provides support to you and your family

Anyone aged 16 years or over can apply for a Cassiltoun Housing Association home by simply completing a housing application form.

Cassiltoun Housing Association participates with the other Associations' in Castlemilk in having one application form for all of the Associations. This common housing application form can be downloaded by clicking on the link and once completed should be returned to this office.  You can apply to one or all of the social housing landlords within the Castlemilk area.

·     Cassiltoun Housing Associations properties are allocated strictly according to ‘housing need’ which is assessed according to a points system.
